Les poomsés sont des combats codifiés, mais sont obligatoire dans la
pratique du Taekwondo. Le Poomsé est un enchaînement de coups de poing,
coup de pieds et blocages réalisés dans un ordre très précis face à un ou plusieurs adversaires imaginaires venant de différentes directions.
L'exécution du poomsé exige rapidité et précision dans les mouvements
et déplacements . Chaque Poomsé a son propre caractère et sa propre
signification. Le poomsé débute et se termine par la position CHARYOTSOGUI suivi du KYONGYE. Il s'annonce à voix haute. Il se déroule
suivant un diagramme différent selon sa complexité . Le point de départ
doit être également celui du retour après la prestation. Il faut vivre son
Poomsé,faire sentir une réelle impression de combat dans l'exécution et
l'efficacité des différents mouvements. Le Poomsé s'exécute de manière très correct , Dobok propre et ceinture correctement nouée.
